A native of Co Mayo, James spent some years in Sligo and Galway in the insurance business where he travelled the west and met some very interesting characters. He moved to Dublin and in 1975 set up his own Insurance Broking and claims handling business. Twenty five years later he sold the business and retired to write full time. He lives with his wife Mary. They have a son, three daughters and eight grand children.

He authored and published several works, like: The rape of the rat, Midas in Connemara, The return of Atlantis, Final Pontiff, Exit Adam, I want to live, Afateful farewel, The Prodigal Series.
And Non Fiction works include: We´re on the road to Hiranyaloka and Once we get rid of money.
